Tanteo y retracto
A pre-emption right allowing a third party, a tenant or a public body, to buy in priority.
The rights of tanteo and retracto are pre-emption rights: tanteo allows a property to be acquired in priority on the terms offered, retracto allows a party to step into the buyer's place after the sale if that right was not respected.
They may benefit a sitting tenant or a public body, particularly in certain regulated areas.
For the seller
If your property is rented out or located in an area subject to pre-emption, you may have to notify the sale to the beneficiary before selling to another buyer.
