Catastro
The tax cadastre describing properties and serving as the basis for the cadastral value.
The Catastro is the administrative and tax register, under the Ministry of Finance, that describes each property physically and economically: floor area, use, cadastral value. It serves as the basis for calculating the IBI and other taxes.
Unlike the Registro de la Propiedad, which establishes legal ownership, the Catastro has a tax-related and descriptive purpose.
For the seller
Your property's cadastral data, such as the floor area and the cadastral value, affect the IBI and serve as a reference during the sale; any inconsistency may need to be corrected.
