Notario
A public officer who authenticates the deed of sale and guarantees its legality.
The notario, or notary, is a public officer who draws up and authenticates the escritura pública of sale, checks the identity of the parties, the absence of hidden charges and the legality of the transaction. In Spain, it is, in principle, the buyer who chooses the notary.
Their fees are set by an official scale and depend mainly on the price of the property.
For the seller
On the day of signing before the notary, you receive the payment and transfer ownership; the notary makes sure the property is sold free of charges.
