Gestoría
A firm that handles the administrative and tax formalities of the transaction.
The gestoría is a specialised firm that takes charge of the transaction's administrative and tax formalities: paying taxes such as ITP or AJD, registering the deed, changing the utility account holders. It is often appointed by the bank when there is a loan.
Its fees come on top of the notary and registry costs.
For the seller
On the seller's side, a gestoría can handle procedures such as the cancellation of a mortgage or your non-resident tax filings.
